I’ve been looking at a lot of Mary Blair’s stuff lately; I should probably just go out and grab her book. Anyway, I really love her stuff it’s just very solid, pure, there’s not any BS going on, it’s just mood and style. In case you don’t know, Mary Blair was an artist for Disney way back when. She started there in 1940 and did designs for a bunch of the early cartoons like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, etc etc. She also designed the It’s a Small World ride. Walt Disney was really into her child like drawings and was always pushing to get her style into the final versions of film without being watered down.
